Design
The start of an end to end training module starts with designing. When designing, it is important to collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and teammates to conduct needs analysis and then figure out what is the appropriate content that works for our target audience. Sometime the content is so much that we have to split it into multiple training - that is ok!
My goal during this process is to always keep the audience in mind. How do we share/show/teach our audience in an engaging way so that they understand the knowledge, learn the skills and able to incorporate what they learned to improve their behavior during their day to day job?
Some gap analysis questions asked during this process...
With the SME to discuss audience and scoping:
What is the background of our audience?
Are they completely new to this topic? Veterans?
Is this intended to be a new course or an update to an existing course?
Do we have any materials already created such as a PowerPoint or a recording?
Create an Instructional Design document or storyboard.
Using Word, PPT template or writing on the board, work with the SME to create a storyboard with necessary information needed for the project.
Discuss level of interactive.
Create a VO Script if necessary.
Note:
All information related to company are removed from the examples
Due to not wanting to fully share what I created for companies I worked at, I took snapshots and videos of the examples. The voices in the examples below are not mine. I am more than happy to talk/share more examples during our conversation.
